چکیده
Aim of study: To identify a new pest jujube reported by the farmers in Spain.
 Area The Iberian Peninsula (Spain).
Material and methods: insects were identified according to mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase subunit I (COI) gene main morphological features this tephritid species, including ocellar seta, mesonotum apical crossband winds.
Main results: Based on characterization as Carpomya incompleta (Becker) (Diptera: Tephritidae), which was confirmed phylogenetic analysis with more than 94% identity. Besides, distance showed very low intraspecific divergence C. sequences.
Research highlights: We report presence zizyphus fruit fly Spain for first time. This has been Early Warning Systems Alien Invasive Species Andalusian Government (Spain).

Nontarget insects captured in fruit fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) surveillance traps.
Traps baited with synthetic lures (ammonium acetate and putrescine) captured as many Mexican fruit flies as the traditional torula yeast/borax slurry, but with far fewer (ratio 5:1) nontarget insects. Ninety percent of the nontarget insects were dipterans. Consequently, neither trap is efficacious against other citrus pests, which are mainly Hemiptera or Lepidoptera. Although the nontarget catc...
متن کاملPuncture resistance in 'Sharwil' avocado to oriental fruit fly and Mediterranean fruit fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) oviposition.
The physiological basis for host antibiosis or nonpreference to a quarantine pest is often not understood. Studies are needed on the mechanisms that impart resistance to better understand how resistance might fail. Experiments were conducted to examine the infestability of 'Sharwil' avocados by oriental fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel), and Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata (Wi...
متن کاملAnalyses of volatiles produced by the African fruit fly species complex (Diptera, Tephritidae) 385 Analyses of volatiles produced by the African fruit fly species complex (Diptera, Tephritidae)
Ceratitis fasciventris, Ceratitis anonae and Ceratitis rosa are polyphagous agricultural pests originating from the African continent. The taxonomy of this group (the so-called Ceratitis FAR complex) is unclear. To clarify the taxonomic relationships, male and female-produced volatiles presumably involved in premating communication were studied using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatogr...
متن کاملSeasonal Distributions of the Western Cherry Fruit Fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) Among Host and Nonhost Fruit Trees
Seasonal distributions of the western cherry fruit fly, Rhagoletis indifferens Curran (Diptera: Tephritidae), in sweet cherry (Prunus avium (L.) L.) (major host), black hawthorn (occasional developmental host) (Crataegus douglasii Lindley), and other trees were determined in a ponderosa pine ecosystem in Washington state, USA. The hypothesis that most fly dispersal from cherry trees occurs afte...
متن کاملProbability of Detecting Caribbean Fruit Fly (diptera: Tephritidae) Infestations by Fruit Dissection
Quarantine inspectors search for fruit fly infestations in incoming shipments by visual inspection and by dissecting or cutting a sample of fruit in each shipment. The reliability of the latter procedure for detecting fruit fly larvae is questionable and, therefore, a test was conducted to determine its effectiveness. Infested grapefruit, mangoes, guavas, and carambolas were cut open to determi...
